Browser support

D2L (the vendor behind Connect) is committed to performing key application testing when new browser versions are released. New and updated functionality is also tested against the latest version of supported browsers. However, due to the frequency of some browser releases, TAFE Queensland cannot guarantee that each browser version will perform as expected. If you encounter any issues with any of the browser versions listed in the tables below, contact customer support, who will determine the best course of action for resolution. Reported issues are prioritized by supported browsers and then maintenance browsers.
Supported browsers are the latest or most recent browser versions that are tested against new versions of D2L products. TAFE Queensland can report problems and receive support for issues from D2L to resolve issues for supported browsers only. For an optimal experience, TAFE Queensland only recommends using the supported browsers listed below.
Note: Microsoft® Internet Explorer® will no longer be supported for Connect access as of January 2020.

End of Life: Internet Explorer

Connect is ending support for the older generation browser Internet Explorer in 2020. After January 1st 2020, all versions of Internet Explorer will be unable to log in to Connect. For more information on this change, see the Brightspace Community article Intent to End of Life Notice for: Internet Explorer Support.
The eLearning Services team alerted our internal ICT teams of this change in August 2019. Since then, those teams have been working to transition away from Internet Explorer as the default web browser and ensure all users on a TAFE Queensland PC have access to a modern browser.
We continue to encourage all Connect users to switch to a faster, modern, more secure browser, including the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge.
If you're a student using a TAFE Queensland PC and do not currently have access to a modern browser for Connect, please contact customer support.
If you are a staff member, we recommend logging a TAP request to get a modern browser installed on your PC (TAP → ICT Services → Request for Software) as soon as possible.
If you are sent a link to Connect and clicking the link results in Connect trying to open in Internet Explorer, it is likely that your PC's default browser is still set to Internet Explorer (even if you have an alternative browser installed).
For instructions on changing your default browser away from Internet Explorer, see the following guides:
