Attribution
TAFE Queensland is audited for copyright by CAL (Copyright Agency Limited) on a regular basis, and it is an audit requirement that all materials used in TQ resources are attributed correctly.
If you are developing TAFE Queensland Intellectual Property, you will have to use a mandatory general copyright statement in addition to attributions. See Mandatory Notices for more.
Referencing
All learning resources that have used 3rd party material as a source of information should include a list of references that can be included in a learner guide or as a page in Connect.
These references are citations of material that has been used as a source of information for writing original material. Wherever any activity that involves copyright has occurred, i.e. copying, an attribution must be used instead of a reference.
If a web page or video has been used as a source of information to write the original content, then that web or video link should be in the reference list, but if it is just a link or an embedded video, the item is not required to be in the reference list. As linking and embedding do not involve copying of any content into a resource, referencing as a citation is not required.
The LMA chair or PLC should advise which referencing style is the industry standard for specific qualifications.
As the reference list is historical the links should not be active, make them plain text as we don't want these to be flagged as dead links at any time in the future.
Attributions Page
All learning resources must include an attributions page that is a list of all third party attributions. See Acknowledgements module for more.
