Below are the Course Creation Tool release notes in descending order.

Hi All,

It has come to our attention that there have been two bugs with the recently released version of the Course Creation Tool v2.8. Given this was a recent release, we felt it was necessary to address this issue quickly with a hotfix version.

For more information around the two bugs refer to the bug fixes section outlined below.

As with every release, please find attached the latest version (2.8) of the Course Creation Tool. I’ve zipped up all of the files that you need, so:

  1. Download the zip attached

  2. Extract the zip to the folder where your previous version is saved

  3. Overwrite ALL files with what is in the zip.

Important!

Before you begin creating and mapping units with this new version, please be aware that the inclusion of additional columns within the Course Offerings have been applied in this build.

As a result you will be unable to use the current exported CSVs from version 2.7 of the Course Creation Tool, instead you will need to export a new CSV file from the new 2.8 build to work with.

This was done to minimise the errors we experienced in the previous version, where old mapping data was imported into the tool – it also keeps our data nice and fresh!

What’s New!

  • Additional column fields called SSP Start Date and SSP End Date have been added to the Course Offerings table. These will display the earliest and latest Student Study Plan dates for each availability respectively.

  • Significant changes to the Course Creation Tool’s architecture has been made to improve the overall performance of the tool. You should expect much faster boot times and loads times when it comes to searching and refreshing data!

As part of improving the performance of load times, we’ve limited the amount of data that first appears when you action the following tasks:

  • Boot up the tool – Only the first one thousand records will load

  • Clicking the clear button – Only the first one thousand records will load

  • When only using the region filter – Only the first one thousand records will load

  • You will no longer need to switch regions to trigger a refresh action! Now when you import, create or edit an offering these changes are now reflected in real time within the Course Creation Tool.

To be sure, you can always use the search and clear functions to manually trigger these actions.

Bug Fixes!

  • As part of our bug fixes for this build the “Add” function of the Course Creation Tool has been removed whilst we look at improving its functions. Don’t worry, you are still able to create individual course/unit offerings through the import method.

  • The Course Creation Tool now correctly accepts mapping/s that have been exported and imported without changes.

  • Fixed issue with the Link Units function, it now correctly updates the Modified Date and Modified By fields to indicate a change.
