Tip

The Content Template contains an example formatting structure to assist you with your writing. This structure is designed to work with Connect, so let's have a look at it's navigational structure and how that relates to the template.

The main navigation in Connect has buttons that represent the main topics or sections - these are known as modules in Connect. Then within each section are individual pages that contain the content.

The image below shows a unit in Connect, with the modules at the left hand side, and on the right you can see the pages that appear within the selected module:

The content template contains red headings that represent the main topics, or modules, and blue headings that correspond to the pages within that module. You can copy and paste these headings as many times as you need for each section, or you can add the styles yourself. Instructions are contained in comments in the template.

The image below shows the layout of the content template - the yellow highlighted sections are where you add your text (all body text should use the Paragraph style):

Warning
titleModule and Page Titles

Each module and page must have a title, and each page title in a unit must be unique: i.e. there can be no pages with the same name in a unit in Connect. So if for example, there are 'introduction', or 'conclusion' pages in each section, these will each have to have a unique name, for example: Introduction: Topic name.

The titles also need to be limited to 30 characters, and ideally the module titles should be even shorter as the text will be cut off if it is too long for the button.
